Dr Sanjay is a highly skilled cancer surgeon with extensive expertise in treating a wide range of cancers, including gastrointestinal, head and neck, breast, gynaecological, urologic and thoracic cancers. He completed his internship at Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital, Mumbai before pursuing his post-graduation in General Surgery at MGM Medical College and M.Y. Hospital, Indore. There, he refined his surgical skills and managed a substantial caseload of trauma and routine surgical cases.
Following his post-graduation, Dr Sanjay did senior residency at Grant Government Medical College and Sir JJ Group of Hospitals, Mumbai. He then advanced his training in cancer surgery at the Gujarat Cancer & Research Institute (GCRI), Ahmedabad, where he completed his training in M.Ch Surgical Oncology. GCRI is one of India’s oldest cancer institute. Later, for further training in key-hole surgery he joined Colorectal & Robotic Surgery Unit at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai.
During his M.Ch training, Dr Sanjay gained experience in managing gastrointestinal, head and neck, breast, urologic, gynaecological, and thoracic cancers. His primary focus is on gastrointestinal (GI) cancers, and he has received specialized training in laparoscopic and robotic surgery for GI including colon & rectal cancers at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai. He has undergone advanced training in peritoneal surface malignancies and HIPEC procedures at the Peritoneal Malignancy Institute, North Hampshire Hospitals, National Health Service (NHS), Basingstoke, UK.
Dr Sanjay has presented his researches at various prestigious international conferences, including the British Association of Surgical Oncology Annual Scientific Conference, London, UK (2023), American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons 125th Annual Scientific Meeting, Baltimore, USA (2024), the Korean Society of Endo-Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgery 54th Congress & 14th International Symposium, Daejeon, South Korea (2024), the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland (ACPGBI) Annual Meeting, Newport, Wales, UK, (2024), Mid-Term Annual Conference of IASO, Andra Pradesh (2020), NATCON IASO, Tamil Nadu (2022) and various national conferences.
